Released in February 2009, ‘Invaders Must Die’ is The Prodigy’s fifth studio album.
Having never been a big fan of the band, I was unsure of what to expect from their return, five years since their last release.
The album is full of energetic tracks and pulsing beats, probably what you would expect, and eventhough I really enjoyed the music, there are certain Prodigy sounds and the voice, which remind me why I have never been a big fan. I think track 5, ‘Take Me To The Hospital’, sums this up perfectly.
There are tracks that I love (e.g Warrior’s Dance), and tracks that I hate ( e.g Run With The Wolves) and the rest, well, they are ok…
Despite my negativity, I actually think on the whole this is a decent album. Loud and fun, the band are back and up to date, whilst keeping their original sound. And it works, not something many bands can achieve after five years away.
