I had been looking forward to listening to this album for a long time and having recieved it as a present I couldn’t wait to put it on whilst waiting for my christmas dinner.
The fact that it has been stuck in my CD player since shows what a fan of this album I am. Rihanna is back, on her fourth studio album, with a more edgy grown-up style and darker lyrics.
‘Rated R’ is a far-cry from her early days and debut album ‘Music of the Sun’, this album clearly shows how far she has come vocally to become one of the worlds most successful R&B artists.
Along with first track release ’Russian Roulette’, my favourite tracks are ‘Hard’, ‘Photographs’, a collaboration with Will.I.Am, and I love the music in ‘Rude Boy’.
Other artists featured on this album include Slash and Young Jeezy, showing the mix of rock and R&B styles on ‘Rated R’.
This is a very strong album, full of great tracks and not one disappointment. Rihanna’s best album yet.
